RIVERSIDE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT ANNOUNCES NEW COURT EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)

 

RIVERSIDE COUNTY:  

 

The judges of the Riverside County Superior Court have announced the appointment of W. Samuel (Sam) Hamrick, Jr. as Court Executive Officer and Clerk of the Court.  Mr. Hamrick currently serves as Clerk of Court in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California in San Diego.

 

Mr. Hamrick is a native of North Carolina and has worked in the federal judiciary since 1988.  He was the first law clerk for United States District Judge Richard L. Voorhees.   After completing his clerkship in 1991, Mr. Hamrick worked as Deputy Clerk/Administrative Analyst in the Western District of North Carolina.  He served as Chief Deputy Clerk of Court in the district courts of the Northern District of West Virginia from 1994 to 1998 and the Northern District of Georgia from 1998 through 2001.  Mr. Hamrick became Clerk of Court in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California on January 1, 2002.

 

Mr. Hamrick has a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master of Public Affairs degree from the Western Carolina University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Campbell University School of Law.  Prior to completing law school, Mr. Hamrick held positions in the United States Senate, the North Carolina State House of Representatives, and the North Carolina Department of Justice. Mr. Hamrick has received numerous awards for leadership and service in court administration.

 

Presiding Judge Mark A. Cope noted that he very much looks forward to working with Mr. Hamrick as the court’s new CEO.  "As a part-time resident of Riverside County for almost ten years, I look forward to becoming a full-time resident and serving the Court and community as Court Executive Officer as well as working with the Bar, Court Staff, and citizens of Riverside County," adds Mr. Hamrick.

 

He will assume his position as Court Executive Officer for the Riverside County Superior Court on January 2, 2014.
