Ford, Public Information Officer RIVERSIDE COUNTY: On October 25, 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom announced the appointment of Carol A. Greene to a vacant judgeship in the Superior Court of California, County of Riverside. Carol A. Greene, 55, of Riverside, has served as a supervising deputy county counsel at the San Bernardino County Counsel’s Office since 2016, where she was a deputy county counsel from 1996-2016. She was an associate at Thompson and Colegate from 1989 to 1996. Greene earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Sharon J. Waters. A state Judicial Needs Assessment has found that the Riverside Superior Court is in dire need of judgeships to help process the growing caseloads in its communities. The filling of this vacancy by Ms. Greene will greatly assist the Court’s goal in continuing to provide access to justice for court litigants.
