RIVERSIDE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT TO CELEBRATE JUROR APPRECIATION WEEK 2014
 
RIVERSIDE COUNTY: The Superior Court of Riverside County will celebrate Juror Appreciation Week, May 12-16, to recognize the service and participation of jurors from the local community. The California Legislature designates the week each year to honor the important contributions of citizens who devote their time and effort in making the right of trial by jury a reality.
 
“Trial by jury is a constitutional right and jury service is an obligation of citizenship,” said Court Executive Officer and Jury Commissioner W. Samuel Hamrick. “Juror Appreciation Week is a way to recognize jurors and thank them for their commitment to democratic ideals. The court appreciates their civic involvement.”
 
Approximately 10 million Californians are summoned to jury service each year and approximately 80 percent of prospective jurors complete their service in one day.
